Allen & Heath SQ5 hire from Firefly AV gives you a compact, feature-packed digital mixing console. You get 48 input channels, 36 busses and 16 assignable outputs. As a result, one desk can cover a full band, a conference panel and a stream feed.

The 7-inch touchscreen and motorised faders keep control fast and intuitive. Also, the custom layers and SoftKeys can be set up around your workflow.

Every input has its own processing strip. That means PEQ, gate, compressor and delay on each channel. In addition, the built-in RackFX engines cover reverb, delay and modulation. So you can build a polished mix without hiring racks of outboard gear.

The XCVI FPGA core runs at 96kHz with ultra-low latency. Because of that, vocals and instruments stay clear and punchy on a busy multi-band bill.

Allen & Heath SQ5 I/O expansion and multitrack recording

The SLink port takes AR2412, AB168 and DX expanders. For example, you can put a stage box downstage and run a single cable to front of house. However, if you need Dante or Waves, the option card slot handles that too.

SQ-Drive records multitrack audio straight to a USB drive. Then you can run a virtual soundcheck, or edit the show later. Wireless control from the SQ MixPad app also lets your engineer mix from the middle of the room.
